Vice President for Student Affairs:
I am pleased to inform you that I have appointed Dr. Larry Lunsford as Vice President for Student Affairs effective 13 May 2013. Dr. Lunsford has held key leadership positions in FIU's Division of Student Affairs since 1989 and has served as Interim Vice President since August of last year.
Vice President of Engagement:
I am pleased to recognize the outstanding work of Interim Vice President Irma Becerra-Fernandez, who has successfully led the Office of Engagement since May 2012. I am appointing her Vice President of Engagement effective today.
School of Hospitality and Tourism Management Founding Dean Gerald Lattin:
Founding dean of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Dr. Gerald Lattin, died in his sleep on April 16, 2013 at the age of 92.
Spring 2013 Commencement:
I am pleased to invite you to Spring Commencement 2013, which we will celebrate as usual at the U.S. Century Bank Arena. This Spring we welcome the first graduating class from the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine to celebrate Commencement jointly with the graduates from the other colleges in the Academic Health Center.
