- Lunch and Happy Hour / Election for our CAC Chair Elect: Several of us will be lunching with Bobby Grillo, CIO here at FIU, today. According to my records, we still have room for two more chairs to join in--let me know if you are interested, please.
- Changes to the Core Curriculum, October 19, 2012: As you may have heard, House Bill 7135 requires us to make some major changes to the University Core Curriculum. House Bill 7135 (Chapter 2012-195, Laws of Florida) amended Section 1007.25, Florida Statutes.
- Reflections on dialogue with External Relations, David Chatfield, September 14, 2012: We chairs met with Sandy and Terry over lunch in one of the small, private dining rooms in the faculty club. We had a good time and intense discussion, and we connected with each other and our guests.
- Upcoming CAC Events Reminder, Jamie Sutton (September 6, 2012): Next Friday, Sept. 14, from 12 noon -1:30 p.m., I will host the first monthly chairs' luncheon in the Faculty Club, Blue Room. Sandy Gonzalez-Levy, VP for External Relations, will be our guest.

- Greetings from 2012-2013 CAC Leader, Jamie Sutton (August 14, 2012): First, my apologies for not writing to all of you earlier, in order to register my gratitude. However, I was on vacation in the Midwest through this past Sunday, and am now--like the rest of you, surely--scrambling with many last minute decisions and preparations relating to the new academic year.

- Paperless change of grade and change in assessment cycle updates: We have begun the design and testing for moving all change of grade forms to an online system, through Panthersoft, via the faculty center.
- Faculty Scholarly Productivity Database: FIU has purchased access to the Faculty Scholarly Productivity database managed by Academic Analytics.
- Ratification of collective bargaining agreement for in-unit faculty: On September 2, both the UFF and the Board of Trustees ratified agreements for inclusion in the 2008-2011 collective bargaining agreement for in-unit faculty.
- Non-Tenure-Track Promotion File Content: The discussion with the UFF and the Faculty Senate resulted in the removal from the procedures the portion of the statement regarding providing evidence of students having attained the student learning outcomes.
